Thursday 29th November saw the region’s finest healthcare innovators gather for this year’s Bright Ideas in Health Awards. Now in its 15th year, the awards celebrate individuals and organisations that are thinking outside the box to improve health services across the North East and North Cumbria.
The NHS Leadership Academy North East supported the organisers, the Academic Health Science Network for the North East and North Cumbria.
The competition rewards the outstanding innovation and excellence emerging from the NHS,
industry and academia across five categories.
- Development of an Innovative Technology or Device
- Service Improvement
- Innovation Champion of the Year sponsored by Newcastle University
- Demonstrating an Impact upon Patient Safety
- Research Impact: Improving Patient Care
Winners were announced at the awards ceremony at the Hilton Newcastle Gateshead Hotel where winners received a cash prize as well as support to help them to develop
their ideas into a new medical product or raise awareness of the innovative service.
