Coaching Supervision Training - Deadline Extended to 30th July 2021

Supervision is “a structured and formal process for coaches, with the help of a coaching supervisor, to attend to improving the quality of their coaching, grow their coaching capacity and support themselves in their practice. Supervision should also be a source of organisational learning.” CIPD 2011.  Having access to supervision is vital element in maintaining quality of coaching, exploring ethical dilemmas, and supporting the wellbeing and development of the coach.
It meets 3 broad functions

  • - ensuring the work completed is professional and ethical operating within whatever codes, laws and organisational norms apply
  • meeting the educative or information needs of the coach for development of skills, theoretical knowledge, personal attributes

Restorative - meeting the support needs of the coach through listening, reflection, questions, feedback
This development opportunity is offered to existing coaches who are qualified and experienced, and interested in developing their skills as a formal Internal Supervisor to support NEYLA and their organisation’s current and developing coaching strategy.  To be considered for this opportunity you should

  • Have accessed coach supervision (this can be group, peer or 1:1)
  • Have completed a recognised, accredited coaching programme (this must be equivalent to ILM5 as a minimum)
  • Be able to demonstrate coaching experience (minimum 50 hours of practice ideally with some formal supervision)
  • Be registered with the regional Coaching and Mentoring register

You will also need to engage with 3-4 Coaches to work with as their supervisor, which is critical to consolidating learning (and without which participants will not be accepted onto the programme)
