Leading at Neighbourhood and Place– Introduction to Human Learning Systems

‘Human Learning Systems’ (HLS) is a new way of doing public management that takes into account the complexity of the real world, to shape how communities and practitioners can coproduce healthy communities. The HLS Approach will support people working at neighbourhood and place to create real outcomes by providing a framework to effectively collaborate across boundaries, to bring together all the elements of the system by which outcomes are made. It argues that we need to make our public services more human, much more focused on learning, and we need all actors operating together to promote healthy systems

In this introductory session, Andy Crosbie from the Collective Impact Agency (member organisation of the HLS Collaborative) will be looking at:

• Understanding complexity

• What’s wrong with our current way of delivering public services?

• How can we do public services better?
