Coaching & Mentoring

Leadership Dimensions:

This session looks at how to develop compassion in our coachees and ourselves (as managers, coaches and mentors) for better health, wellbeing and productivity.

What you will learn:

  • Why humans are built for compassion

  • Why it’s so hard to be self-compassionate (for coaches and coachees)

  • Why too much empathy and the desire to help can cause problems for coaches

  • Compassion and the corporate world - why it makes good business sense. (It’s not all pink and fluffy!)

By the end of the session you will:

  • Know the three requirements for compassion to exist
  • Examined three helpful questions on compassion to develop your coaching capability
  • Learned some techniques for generating compassion in coachees (and their staff)
  • Have explored and brought greater self-compassion to  a personal challenging event

You should attend this session if you are:

A coach/mentor working with coachees whose coaching topics are:

  • Health and wellbeing
  • Work/life balance
  • Emotional resilience and stress management
  • Improved emotional intelligence
  • Building and maintaining relationships
  • Increasing confidence and self esteem
  • Life and career transition

The event will be led by Julia Menaul of Spark Coaching & Training and will include a mix of input on the latest thinking on compassion as well as interactive exercises to increase your confidence when coaching coachees in crisis and avoiding personal empathic overload or burnout.

You will have the opportunity to share your learning on what hinders our own compassion towards coachees and how to find the space and courage to help them, as well as ourselves.
