It’s a one-to-one process that enables individuals to improve their skills, behaviours and professional performance. Typical issues addressed in coaching sessions include: skills and performance; personal development; leadership; and, work/life balance.
We actively promote coaching approaches and cultures throughout the region and have over 70 trained coaches active on our coaching register, CoachNet.
Professional coaching you can trust
We’ve established a professional coaching community by using experienced practitioners from across the public and private sector. All our coaches are certified with an Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) Level 5 certificate in Coaching and Mentoring or an equivalent qualification.
To ensure you receive a high quality, professional coaching experience, we provide training and development for workplace coaches including ILM 5 Coaching, Coaching Fundamentals, CPD and Master Classes, and Coaching Supervision. Our coaches access two Continuing Professional Development (CPD) sessions and two supervision sessions per year.
Our coaching standards are in line with guidelines set by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) and our coaches adhere to the EMCC Code of Ethics.
Getting the most out of coaching
To ensure the client’s needs are met, coaches and coachees establish a Coaching Agreement by discussing mutual expectations and establishing a set of ground rules.
Support and management of coaches and coachees
We help you get the most from coaching by providing support and management for coaches and coachees. We make it easy for you by supporting the administration associated with matching internal and external coaches to coachees.
Our online tracking system – CoachNet – keeps details of accredited internal and external coaches who meet the Academy’s requirements, matches coaches to coaches, and records all coaching interventions. CoachNet also provides valuable management information for our partners so you can see what coaching activity is taking place within your organisation, such as how many coaches and coachees are registered, how many are active, and who has accessed a coach.
