The Academic Health Science Network and North East Leadership Academy have collaborated to provide this one-day practical learning event which will offer exercises and tools to support you to build and mature your skills and confidence to have effective coaching conversations.

By the end of the day participants will:

  • have learned and practised using a range of practical coaching questions and tools
  • have a structure and framework to use in 1:1 and team conversations
  • feel confident having coaching conversations with a range of people
  • have a plan to use their new coaching skills 

Topics covered throughout the day are:

  • Understanding the link between Thinking, Action & Results in the context of coaching conversations
  • Using four components to influence people to think in a helpful way
  • Designing high quality questions and practising their use
  • Learning and practising four goal defining techniques
  • Using the Go MAD Thinking Framework to structure a coaching conversation
  • Moving from problems to solutions
  • Practising coaching conversations

 
The day will be facilitated by Andy Gilbert, Founding Director of Go MAD Thinking.

About Andy Gilbert

Andy has been the driving force behind the values driven company he founded in 1996, going on to develop the Go M.A.D. Thinking System in 1998, which is now used by hundreds of thousands of people across the world. Andy has written over 20 books, including his seminal work ‘Go MAD - The Art of Making a Difference’, and his critically acclaimed ‘Go MAD about Coaching’, as well as presenting over 200 video and audio programmes relating to leadership, personal development and organisational change.
 
Andy has gathered a wealth of knowledge and experience as a top-level business coach and business improvement expert. This will introduce you to the Making A Difference background and the Go M.A.D. Thinking System that will be used as a coaching framework.
